Berlitz® Compact English-German Dictionary

Berlin, 23 June, 2006 - Envi.con KG, in co-operation with the language publisher Berlitz®, has released the Berlitz® Compact German Dictionary for handhelds and smartphones.

The Berlitz® Compact German Dictionary brings one of the most trusted names in language reference to the mobile device. The dictionary contains over 50,000 entries drawn from modern usage, complete and accurate definitions, as well as information about idiomatic expressions. It is ideal for writers, students, and professionals, or anyone else who needs the right word at the right time.

A number of the dictionary's features are unique to the mobile platform. The incorporated full text search function scans the word lists in addition to the contents of every entry. In this way all possible matches are found.

The Berlitz® Compact German Dictionary translates in two directions: German-English and English-German. The user interface is in English.

For the first time Berlitz® dictionaries are available for the mobile device. Handheld and smartphone users now have dependable language reference quickly within reach, making heavy paper dictionaries seem obsolete.

Berlin, April 27, 2006 - With the World Cup around the corner the software developers Envi.con and Resco have released "World Cup Mobile 2006" for handhelds and smartphones.

"World Cup Mobile" offers up to the minute match results, standings, and news 24 hours a day. Football fans can view current team rosters, game occurances, spectator numbers, penalty cards, goals scored, and more with the online update function. A detailed game description follows each World Cup match.

"World Cup Mobile" also contains historical information about all 32 participating teams, descriptions and photos of each game location, a schedule of matches, and World Cup statistics since 1930. The update function delivers the latest World Cup news and headlines prior to and during the World Cup this summer.

"World Cup Mobile" is currently available for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs, Palm OS handhelds and smartphones, and Symbian series 60 smartphones (i.e. N series, 6600, 6680). The full version costs 14.95 Euros. A demo version with limited functionality is also available for download.

German City Maps with Aerial Imagery

<p align= Berlin, November 7, 2005 - Envicon, together with GeoContent Ltd., has released city maps with aerial images for PDAs and Smartphones.

Users can toggle between a normal map view and a full-color aerial view when using the application. Image resolution is 2 meters per pixel, allowing individual buildings and terrain features to be easily recognized.

The aerial images add a new layer of functionality to PDA Stadtplandienst, Envicon's popular city map application for German cities. PDA Stadtplandienst (or, "PDA City Map Service") features an address look-up function, GPS compatibility, address book integration, and the ability to send map cut-outs via email, MMS, or Bluetooth.

The aerial imagery gives users the ability to view any address from a bird's eye perspective. Addresses entered into the address look-up are also marked on the aerial image, allowing the user to gain a feel for the location's position in the real world. Additional functionality enables street address display for any point tapped on the aerial image.

Internet connectivity is not required to view the aerial perspectives. The entire application
including images can be stored on the device
memory card.

Langenscheidt Dictionaries for Symbian Smartphones

Envi.con has released the Symbian version of the Langenscheidt dual-directional dictionary with an integrated talking function. Developed in cooperation with the respected German dictionary publisher Langenscheidt, the software sets a new design standard for mobile reference works.

The dual-directional German to English dictionary contains more than 120,000 key words and phrases and includes extensive details about grammer and proper usage.

The software includes a talking function to help with pronunciation, a unique feature to mobile dictionaries. The incorporated full text search function scans the word lists in addition to the contents of every entry. In this way all possible matches are found.

The language combinations German-French, German-Italian, and German-Spanish are also available. The user can access all installed Langenscheidt dictionaries on the handheld under one unified index. Hyperlinks also enable word recall when working between the various installed works.

The dictionaries work on various Symbian operating systems: Symbian Series 60 (Nokia), Series 80 (Nokia Communicator) and Symbian UIQ (SonyEricsson P800/P900/P910).

City Maps for Nokia Communicator

The Berlin-based software company Envi.con has released the application "Handy Stadtplandienst" for the Nokia Communicator.

Handy Stadtplandienst (roughly, "Mobile City Map Service") brings German city maps from the well known internet site stadtplandienst.de to the mobile device. The mapping application, already available for Windows Mobile and Palm OS devices, has received high praise for its fast loading speed and graphic quality. The program is an excellent aid for anyone trying to find their way in a German city.

Following the success of the application for Series 60 and UIQ Symbian Smartphones, as well as Palm OS and Pocket PC PDAs, the application is now available for the Nokia Communicator Series 9300 and 9500 running the Symbian Series 80 operating system. These devices feature large display screens, making them particularly well suited for the viewing of the graphic detail offered by the program.

Langenscheidt Mobile Talking Dictionaries

Envi.con released its newest software product at the CeBIT computer Expo in Hannover, a dual-directional dictionary with an integrated talking function. Developed in cooperation with the respected German dictionary publisher Langenscheidt, the software sets a new design standard for mobile reference works.

This is the first time Langenscheidt language dictionaries are available in mobile format. Handheld users now have trusted language reference quickly within reach, making heavy paper dictionaries seem obsolete.

The dual-directional German to English dictionary contains more than 120,000 key words and phrases and includes extensive details about grammer and proper usage. As in the paper version of the dictionary, core vocabulary is marked to help keep the user oriented.

The software includes a talking function to help with pronunciation, a unique feature to mobile dictionaries. Just push a button and the selected entry is read aloud by the voice of a native speaker.

The incorporated full text search function scans the word lists in addition to the contents of every entry. In this way all possible matches are found. This is an extremely useful function that brings language reference to a whole new level.

Further language combinations, including German-French, German-Italian, and German-Spanish, are in development and will be available soon. The user can access all installed Langenscheidt dictionaries on the handheld under one unified index. Hyperlinks also ennable word recall when working between the various installed works.

The dictionaries for PDA and Smartphones are available for 37,90 Euro each. The text version without talking function costs 34,90 Euro. A free test version can also be downloaded. Versions for Smartphones with Symbian operating systems (Nokia, SonyEricsson, Sendo) will be available soon.
